Sugu reintrodukcija ir agrāk izzudušu sugu populāciju atjaunošana. Saskaņā ar Sugu un biotopu aizsardzības likumu sugu reintrodukcija ir atļauta, ja izraudzītās teritorijas (reģiona) ekoloģiskā atbilstība reintrodukcijai ir zinātniski pamatota un atjaunojamai populācijai tiks nodrošināts aizsardzības režīms un reintrodukcijas iniciators veic reintroducēto populāciju monitoringu un reintrodukcijas ekoloģisko efektu pētījumus. re-introduction of species

Re-introduction of species means the restoration of previously extinct population of species. In accordance to the Species and Biotope Protection Law, re-introduction of species is allowed if ecological suitability of the chosen territory (region) for the reintroduction is scientifically justified and the protection status for the reintroduced population is provided and if the initiator of the introduction carries out monitoring of the introduced population and researches the ecological effects of this introduction.
