Industrializēta sabiedrība ar tai raksturīgo standartizāciju, augsto tehnoloģisko procesu koncentrāciju ierobežotā telpā, masveida ražošanas apjomiem un patēriņu strauji degradē ainavu noteicošās īpašības un to tradicionālo struktūru samazinot dabisko telpisko daudzveidību, pārveidojot dabiskās un materiālās un enerģētiskās plūsmas un samazinot informativitāti un estētisko pārdzīvojumu. landscape degradation

Landscape degradation is the total of negative manifestations that basis is poor economic management, poor planning and its implementation, and low level of responsibility and cultural development of all responsible persons involved. Industrialized society with characteristic standardization, high concentration of technological process in limited space, and mass production and consumption, rapidly degraded the qualities of landscape, its traditional structure, by reducing natural spatial diversity, by changing natural flows of energy and matter and by decreasing the opportunities for informative and aesthetical experiences.
