Õueala on tee, mis on määratud sõidukite ja jalakäijate ühiseks liikluseks ning sellisena liiklusmärgistatud. Õuealadel võivad jalakäijad kasutada kogu tänavat. Sõidukijuhid ei tohi õuealal ohustada jalakäijaid ning peavad vajadusel peatuma. Ka jalakäijad ei tohi sõidukijuhte põhjuseta takistada.

A calm traffic area is a road designated for the common traffic of pedestrians and vehicles which is signposted as such. In calm traffic areas, pedestrians may use the whole road. Drivers shall not endanger or obstruct pedestrians in calm traffic areas and, if necessary, they shall stop their vehicles. Pedestrians shall not obstruct drivers unnecessarily.
