En landsdækkende organisation (eller NGO – den engelske betegnelse bruges også på dansk) er en privat organisation, der varetager medlemmernes interesser på bl.a. plan- og miljøområdet. Eksempler på landsdækkende danske organisationer, som deltager i debatten om planlægningsspørgsmål er kommercielle organisationer (fx indenfor bygge-, anlægs- og ejendomsmarkedet, industri, landbrug, detailhandel, turisme), ikke kommercielle organisationer (fx på social-, kultur-, miljø- og naturområderne, beboerorganisationer, uddannelses- og forskningsinstitutioner), planlægger-organisationer mv.

A nationwide nongovernmental organization is a private organization or institution that attends to the members’ interests, including spatial planning and the environment. Examples of such organizations that participate in the debate about spatial planning issues are commercial organizations (such as housing, construction and real estate market, industry, farming, retail trade and tourism), noncommercial organizations (such as social, cultural, environment and nature, tenants’ associations, educational and research institutions), organizations of professional planners etc.
