national definition:Особо охранняемая природная территория, имеющае большое экологическое, научное, культурное, эстетическое, историческое значение, в отношении которой устанавливаются особые режимы охраны и использования. В соответствии с Законом Республики Беларусь "Об особо охраняемых природных территориях и объектах" (1994г.) земли особо охранняемых природных территорий и объектов являются землями прородоохранного назначения и на них запрещается деятельность, противоречащая их целевому назначению. Создание сети биосферных заповедников начато под эгидой ЮНЕСКО в 1976 для сохранения и исследования нетронутых или малоизмененных экосистем. Биосферные заповедники создаются с целью сохранения в естественном состоянии природного комплекса, входящего в состав заповедника; проведения научных исследований; мониторинга за антропогенными изменениями природной среды; популяризации прородоохранной деятельности. В Беларуси находится Березенский биосферный заповедник.
Biosphere reserve
english definition:A biosphere reserve is a large area of countryside which has ecological, scientific, aesthetic, cultural and historical value. Special rules for protection and usage are set by the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On specially protected natural areas and objects" (1994). Any activity which is divergent to the protective purpose is prohibited on these areas. They form part of a global network of similarly protected territories. The idea of this type of designation is to preserve the natural ability of the protected eco-systems to develop, and to promote research into nature protection. These sites participate in the international system of environmental monitoring. They are zoned according to the intensity of human intrusion: the “core zone” is the subject of particularly stringent protection; the “buffer zone” serves to protect the core zone from harmful impacts; the “transition zone” contains areas given over to traditional agricultural usage, trial areas for experimental research and areas for regeneration. Since 1976 these reserves have been recognised under the UNESCO program on “Man and the Biosphere”. In Belarus there is Berezinsky biosphere reserve.
